Ministries Northstar Baptist Church offers a wide variety of ministries for various age groups

Ministry of the Word:

The preaching and teaching of the Word of God is the focal point of Northstar Baptist Church. Our pastor, Dr. David Sorenson, preaches the Word in a clear, interesting, and dynamic fashion. Most of his messages are expositional in nature. Dr. Sorenson also systematically teaches through the Word of God.

For the past fifteen years, the pastor has been teaching the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse in the Midweek Service. A similar approach is used in the adult Sunday School classes where several godly laymen in the church teach from Dr. Sorenson's expositional notes on the Bible. These expositional notes have been published as a full-fledged commentary of the Bible, and distirbuted around the world.

Sunday School:

There is a full Sunday School ministry at Northstar Baptist Church from the nursery level through the adult level. Godly and dedicated teachers teach the Word of God on a level commensurate with the age group in their classes. Most of the Sunday School teachers at Northstar Baptist Church have many years experience teaching the Word of God.

In addition, there are separate classes for teenage boys and teenage girls where biblical issues appropriate to their lives are taught. Adult classes are taught by godly laymen who teach from systematic and expositional Bible lessons written by the pastor.

Ladies' Ministries:

The ladies of Northstar Baptist Church meet once a month for the Ladies Fellowship and maintain a sweet time of Christian womanhood. The Ladies of the church enjoy a wide variety of events, including everything from holiday celebrations to theme dinners.

Other Ministries:

• Marriage and family counseling is available through the pastoral staff.
• Revival meetings, conducted from time to time.
• Special evangelistic dinners. Members are encouraged to invite their friends who are not believers to enjoy good food and hear a powerful gospel presentation. Many have received Christ in such forums.
• Church social functions. From time to time, various events are held for adults or for the entire church, such as our church picnic each summer.
• Individual and small group Bible studies are also available upon request.
